Jerico Woggon

Born and raised in the coastal community of Summerland, California, Jerico Woggon is a dynamically fresh visual artist. From multimedia, installation, mixed media, to assemblage art, the term  ‘visonary renaissance man’ tells the story.  His site-specific black light environments have been installed at Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland, Club Giant, Burningman, Baltimore Virgin Music Festival, Autumn Lights LA, and many others.

Woggon's work has been heavily influenced by his family's artistic legacy. Jerico’s great uncle, Elmer Woggon, created Skylark, the first aviation-themed comic strip circa 1920’s, while his grandfather, Bill Woggon, created 1945’s “Katy Keene”: America’s Pin-up Queen for the Archie comic book series. Traces of his family's comic book stylings are reflected in the bold lines and graphic use of colors that characterize Woggon's work.

Woggon is also deeply inspired by the visual futurist Syd Mead and organic bio-designer Professor Luigi Colani’s 50 year career, as well as by the collaborative efforts of designing teams Charles and Ray Eames, and Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

Extensive experience as an art director, promoter, and event producer, combined with 20 years in historical automotive restoration, industrial sculpture, concept cars, promotional vehicles and prototype development, also adds technical experience and a practical planning element to Woggon’s work. He mastered the ability to manage and plan for his extensive site-specific installations by utilizing his building it from the “ground up style”.

Woggon moved to the Arts District in downtown LA in 2004. Since then he has exhibited his own paintings, multimedia sculpture and large scale site-specific installations as well as hosting a monthly Cocktail Party Series which features and promotes musicians, artists and other entertainers from the area. The full range of Jerico’s talents have been a regular fixture in the Los Angeles arts scene for nearly a decade.

Currently, Woggon is focused on producing an original series of paintings, installations and other work at his new studio. For a unique visual experience encompassing his wide range of talents and projects, use Google search keywords: Jerico Woggon.
